Once Upon a Time Video Montage

I’ve been working with Teri Nash at Heartbeat Dance Academy since 2007. It’s always amazing how she comes up with fresh ideas for each season’s spring dance recitals. This year they performed at the Carlmont Performing Arts Center, a wonderful venue for light and sound. I shot three performances with two HD cameras to make DVDs and Blu-Ray discs for the families. I received a solid sound feed from the house audio board. Check the video montage we created from the Saturday night teen show of Once Upon a Time. Great music, great dance.

West Coast Dance Conservatory

This was my second year working with Angela Holmes, the brilliant Owner/Artistic Director, who has grown what was Millbrae Dance Academy into the West Coast Dance Conservatory.

She put on four performances this year and I shot each with two cameras and an audio feed from the house sound board. AVS made DVDs and BluRay discs for each of the performances with titles and chapter markers to easily click forward and backward.

All performances were shot at the Bayside Performing Arts Center where Ron Ho provided his usual theatre support with professional lighting and sound.

One of my joys is making a montage set to music of the entire performance so each dance gets a share of the limelight. Angela collaborated, with her keen eye, to create a very fun look at the groups in each performance. Let Justin Timberlake’s theme music take you away.

San Francisco Public Golf Alliance

Since my son’s freshman year on the high school golf team in 2005, I’ve been involved with the San Francisco Public Golf Alliance. It’s a group of golf enthusiasts who’ve worked together to keep Sharp Park Golf Course from the hands of a group of environmentalists who sought to close the course and turn it into a wild life preserve.

Once a year the golf alliance holds a tournament at Sharp Park to remind the public that the course is always in jeopardy and requires stewardship to stay open.

The 2018 tournament is May 26, 2018. Entry forms are here.

We created a promotional video, to support the alliance, narrated by Mr. Bo Links.

Tribute Video (aka LifeTime Video)

My studio won two national awards from Home Video Studios Inc, for best This is Your LifeTime video a few years ago. These were projects I did for customers who had lost a loved one and wanted to honor their lives through photos, video, film, narration and music.

I started video taping my parents while they were still alive and healthy. We took time to record them reminiscing over family photo albums, talking about when and where photos were taken and sometimes arguing about it; a microcosm of family life.

I have better equipment and greater skill now than I had back then, but it was a blessing to get them recorded. I can share their story with my grand children who will not have had the pleasure of knowing them.

I miss my parents. I am glad that we were able to honor them in this way.

Promo Video

Promo videos for companies and individuals is a fun part of my work. I get to work with interesting clients to collaboratively tell a story. We shoot video, photos, and provide a variety of audio and lighting tools to bring the story to life.

We did a job with a club piano player and singer who I’d worked with in the past. She wanted to put together a promotional video for DVD and the web that she could use to secure engagements at bay area venues. We used a local performance venue with wonderful lighting. I provided multiple audio recorders, and two camera video coverage. Here is a sample of her video.
